The holidays are a great time to relax with family and friends and give thanks for all you have, but one part of the holidays which is always a hassle is getting the decorations in and out of storage. Whether it is Halloween, Easter or Christmas, make your holidays stress-free by following these simple tips for holiday decoration storage.

  1. Firstly, organise your holiday decorations by placing them into storage bins. Make sure any fragile decorations are carefully packaged to avoid damage and consider the order that the items are put away, to ensure decorations which are used for multiple holidays are easy to get out. Don’t forget to label each box and include a checklist, this will save you valuable time when you are looking for an item.
  2. Garages suffer from temperature fluctuations so think carefully about candles, crystals and other decorations which might be impacted by those temperature swings. Those items might need to be stored in an alternative location or placed in insulated cool bags to help minimize the impact of the seasons on them.
  3. Install an effective garage door threshold seal inside your garage. This will prevent rain, water, dust and vermin from entering the garage and damaging your decorations. It is a small investment that will save you a lot of money in the long run as you won’t have to replace damaged decorations.
  4. And finally, install shelving units in your garage. This will allow you to use the vertical space in your garage and maximise the amount you can store. Having boxes arranged neatly on shelves also makes it a lot easier to get the decorations in and out, rather than having to move boxes about as you rummage towards the back of the garage looking for that one decoration.

Following these steps will help save you time, allowing you to spend more time enjoying yourself.

Happy Holidays
